We have been taking the time to get under the skin of the STAR Recruitment team members to find out what makes them tick ….. and what ticks them off! This time it’s the turn of Gillian Nimmo, Head of Property.
1 How and why did you join STAR Recruitment?
Nick asked me to come back to the business. Timings were right for both of us as the business is at a point where we want to develop and diversify.
2. Tell us something about yourself that very few people know?
I have 9 tattoos. One of which is for looseheadz charity. Rugby is an outlet for so many and loosheadz are striving to provide mental health support one club at a time.
3. If you could meet any living person for dinner, who would it be and why?
My brother. He is my best friend and we don’t see each other very often.
4. What is your favourite drink (boozy or non-boozy)?
Red wine
5. What’s the best bit of advice you have ever been given?
What is for you will not go past you. My Gran was always right.
6. If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
I already live in the best place in the world. Scotland is home and always will be.
7. What would your dream house be like?
In the country with lots of cows and ducks and a garden big enough to have my own rugby posts.
8. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A doctor, was never going to happen!
9. What was the first thing of significance you bought with your own money when you started work?
My first car.
10. What’s your most-used emoji?
Rugby Ball.
11. What’s the first thing you would do/buy if you won the lottery?
Wouldn’t buy, but would donate money and set up an ongoing scholarship for Boroughmuir Rugby Club to use for Youth development.
12. Finally, what 3 things would you take with you to a desert island?
A rugby ball, family photos and a mixed tape of songs that hold memories.
